Blackcurrant immediately appears in the cup – juicy, bold, and deep. Crème de cassis then enters, adding a liqueur-like sweetness and density. Rhubarb appears on the finish, bringing a fresh, slightly acidic structure and enhancing the overall dynamic. The coffee is clean, intense, and very concentrated in flavor – exactly what you'd expect from a top Kenyan. Kenia Cassis is a classic washed from the Kirinyaga region, sourced from the Karimikui Coffee Factory, part of the Rungeto FCS cooperative. DAK has been sourcing coffees from this location since 2016, and the factory is renowned for its exceptional attention to quality and sustainable processing. The beans are grown on the slopes of Mount Kenya at an altitude of 1600–1800 meters above sea level, primarily by small-scale producers who, despite the region's dominant tea industry, create some of the most intense Kenyan profiles.
