Concept Coffee – Burundi Nemba is a single-origin specialty coffee sourced from the Nemba washing station in the Kayanza province of northern Burundi. Sourced from 1074 smallholder farmers cultivating coffee near the Kibila forest at altitudes up to 1700 MASL, this lot is 100% Red Bourbon. The cherries undergo a controlled dry process inoculated with selected yeast strains (Yeast Inoculated Natural). This processing method enhances flavor complexity, sugar concentration, and cup consistency.
The resulting cup features a vibrant acidity structure balanced by a rich cocoa foundation. The flavor profile opens with punchy notes of pomegranate and ripe black currant, evolving into a delicate floral finish of hibiscus. The base is anchored by deep tones of dark cocoa. Lightly roasted for filter extraction, this lot is optimized for manual pour-over tools including the Hario V60, Chemex, and AeroPress.
