More than 1,600 smallholder farmers—each cultivating between 100 and 7,000 coffee trees—supply their cherries to the Bwenda Washing Station, established in 2019 by Rwanda Trading Company and located in the heart of the "Land of a Thousand Hills." Three full-time employees, including manager Eric, and up to 60 staff ensure that coffee is harvested from over 20 locations within a radius of just a few kilometers and processed at the washing station. Furthermore, the RTC offers farmers tailored on-site agribusiness training to ensure the long-term economic success of these smallholder producers.
