Café Rivense is a family-owned micro-mill in southern Costa Rica, run by the Ureña Rojas family—Regulo, Isabel, and their four sons: Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, and Luis. Together, they form one of the most organized and modern farms in the Chirripó region, which has consistently developed with a spirit of independence and sustainability since 2005. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,700 meters above sea level, the La Guaca plantation owes its name to ancient legends of "golden graves"—places where indigenous people buried their loved ones along with their valuables. However, the real gold of this place turned out to be the coffee.
