A taste of Cauca’s potential & its resilience; one of the two coffees that we secured at the 'Best of Cauca' auction last year. Together with a lot from producer Yhon Sánchez, these two Terroir driven and complex coffees come from the south of Cauca, where nutrient-rich soil and a perfect climate play a key role in producing some of Colombia’s most sought-after coffees. This all exists against a backdrop of poverty, conflict, and limited infrastructure. Coffee farming offers a path forward in the region, an alternative to the still-dominant coca crops. The auction is an inspiration to many local farmers, showing that coffee can offer a sustainable future.
