Jhoan Vergara with another stunning coffee. A candy-like Anaerobic Washed Red Bourbon, bright and sweet with notes of jelly beans—pink gummies and vanilla ice cream.
Las Flores Farm was founded in 1990 by Edilberto Vergara and Nubia Ayure, both children of coffee farmers from Cundinamarca. The farm covers 16 hectares, with only 2 hectares devoted to coffee. By 1998, the farm was fully cultivated. By that time, a family with five children had formed. In 2006, Jhoan's mother took the initiative to participate in the Cup of Excellence and placed 16th. This was the moment she took her first steps into discovering the wonderful world of specialty coffee.
In 2019, Jhoan participated in the Master of Coffee competition in the coffee growers category and won first place out of 162 entrants with a semi-washed Pink Bourbon. This achievement confirmed their belief that they were on the right track and motivated them to improve and always create excellent coffee.
