Friedhats – Ethiopia Ashenafi Getaneh is a single-origin specialty coffee sourced from the Gerse region within Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. Grown by producer Ashenafi Getaneh at high altitudes of 2100–2200 MASL, this lot features a mix of local Heirloom varieties and selections 74110, 74112, and 74114. The cherries undergo a Red Honey process, where a substantial layer of mucilage is left on the parchment during sun-drying, delivering elevated cup sweetness while retaining origin clarity.
The resulting filter roast presents a complex, aromatic cup profile with structured acidity. The flavor hierarchy is led by exotic notes of sweet mangosteen and fragrant bergamot, rounded out by delicate, persistent floral tones. Lightly roasted for filter extraction, this lot excels in manual pour-over methods including the Hario V60, Chemex, and AeroPress.
