Friedhats – Kenya Karumandi is a brilliantly clean, complex, and highly structured single-origin specialty coffee showcasing the best of the Kirinyaga region. Grown at 1600–1700 MASL, this traditional Kenyan lot features a blend of SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties. Cultivated by around 1700 smallholders under the Baragwi Cooperative Society, the cherries are processed at the prominent Karumandi factory utilizing a modern digital tracking system. A flawless fully washed process (Washed) strips away any heavy processing influence to deliver supreme varietal definition and an immaculate cup structure.

The resulting cup delivers an incredibly elegant, layered, and comforting tasting experience. It opens with the signature, juicy tartness of fresh currants, bringing forth a lively yet beautifully balanced acidity. The mid-palate introduces a sophisticated, honey-sweet layer of aromatic Rooibos tea, while a clean, refreshing layer of premium green tea rounds out the lingering finish. Lightly roasted with outstanding consistency for filter extraction, this lot yields exceptional flavor separation across manual pour-overs like the Hario V60.
