Friedhats – Uganda Nyabirongo is a groundbreaking specialty release, marking a long-awaited and highly anticipated origin debut for the Amsterdam-based roastery. Grown by the Bakonzo community smallholders on the southern slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains, this exceptional lot thrives at heights reaching 2200 MASL. The farmers cultivate high-risk, high-reward SL14 and SL28 varieties — genetics heavily associated with top-tier Kenyan coffees. Processed using a traditional Natural method at the Nyabirongo Factory, this lot offers a rare chance to experience a sun-dried SL28 fruit bomb, yielding spectacular clarity and sweetness.

The resulting cup is beautifully juicy, rich, and highly structured. It kicks off with a vibrant, sugary rush of candied red fruits, seamlessly balanced by the luxurious, comforting depth of premium dark chocolate. The experience concludes with a sophisticated, complex, and slightly herbal finish reminiscent of bittersweet sarsaparilla.
